Cotswold Gateways

The Cotswolds Conservation Board has worked with local community groups to create ten new Cotswold Gateway sites, from which people can follow routes to explore the surrounding countryside of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Following footpaths, bridleways, and minor roads, these routes give people opportunities to discover hidden corners, epic views, historic sites, and a rich diversity of wildlife.

Gateways routes can be found in the following towns and villages. Download route maps and GPX files for each location below:

Charlbury
Cirencester
Dursley
Hawkesbury Upton
Marshfield
Painswick
Stroud
Tetbury
Winchcombe
Wotton under Edge.

Walking and cycle routes lead around and out from each gateway, so you can either explore the surrounding area, or discover green areas within a town or village.

Routes are waymarked with Cotswold Gateway discs, and have been selected to be suited to a range of walkers and cyclists. They have been mapped out, tested, and implemented by community groups in each location, including the Cotswold Voluntary Wardens, along with local parish and town councils.
